Mission Letter to the Magisterial Delegate for the United States, 2009

We all know that our chivalrous vocation is demanding and that it is a difficult calling to answer to. I can tell you that the essential thing is True Conversion; we can do all the rest if we pray in the manner required by our Rule, which begins with the Breviary.

Although this is the priority, it is most assuredly action which is our raison d’ĂȘtre as knights. Individual action, of course, but also action within the context of the MSM. Our isolation results in our often being obliged to individual action but it must be said that all of our acts in the Temporal City are the result of our allegiance to the Order. On this subject, one must remember what I refer to as the “terrible” passages of the dubbing ritual:

“You will often do that which you do not wish: If you would like to go hither, you will be sent yonder; if you wish to sleep, you will be made to wake, if you wish to wake, you will be commanded to rest; if you seek rest, perhaps you will be given demanding tasks, or if you wish to act, you may be asked to do nothing” (Chap. VII, Profession of the Knights of Our Lady).

So, in my opinion, even for our individual action, we may be given directions by our superior in the Order (Preceptor, Prior or National Delegate, Master).

After the prayers of the Order, your priorities will be […] the propagation of the MSM […]. These are actions of the Order.

Finally, you may refer, without it being limitative for you who are alone, to the priorities defined by successive Masters:

-          Promotion of the Family and of Life

-          Study of Marxism (without effect on your brothers and sisters)

-          Study and promotion of the Social Doctrine of the Church

-          Respect for the Liturgy, in conformity with the doctrincal capitularies

-          Studying ‘Ecclesia in Europa’ (for you ‘Ecclesia in America’) in order to draw conclusions on our studies and action […]

In the end, we must pray, study and act in conformity with the chivalrous spirituality which is our specificity. […]

I assure you of my prayers in Our Lady for the realization of your chivalrous vocation,

Jacques Pellabeuf, Master
Militia Sanctae Mariae
